I have seen a few Photographers at the event ... and though I am racing, I will be taking photos inbetween my run/work time. Could be fun for you photogs out there that want to practice on some pretty quick moving cars. No cost to watch at all.

YOU WILL NEED: An Approved SA2005 or NEWER Helmet.
By the way: if you are just starting out ... they have helmets to borrow for you Rookies.

COST:
If you are a SCCA Member it's 30 bucks to enter online and 35 at the event.
If you are not a SCCA Member it's 45 bucks online and 50 at the event.
If you register online, you can still get a small discount then just pay for your run at the track

SCCA Membership costs: 80 bucks.

Keith, you have such evil thoughts!!! I 'd rather be driving, my friend... Anyhow, I have not bought yet because no one has the DFA 55mm f/2.8. I am looking into a FA 45-85 f/4.5. I do not want to buy the camera and not be able to shoot... It would be like marrying the most beautiful woman and being able to just look at her for a month! It only takes 2 days for the camera to arrive...

Yup, in TX, they run SCCA AutoX all year. January - December ... usually the first Sunday of each month.

There's SCCA Runnings in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Lubbuck, Corpus Cristi and El Paso in TX.

And you can run a stock car vs other stock cars of your class.

All about having a bit of fun.

Very cool! So are there designated areas to shoot from or just find your spot when you get there?

^^ You shoot from the safe areas or designated spectator areas.

You can also walk among the drivers in the drivers pad for those waiting to run.
