I shot this a couple years ago (before I had that tree in the front yard trimmed)...

Very nice, did you trip the tree completely or just the larger branches. It probably opened up the view in front a lot.

We trimmed off much of the top and shaped it more.. we had a big windstorm that broke one of those high branches and it was threatening to bring down the whole tree... its only just as tall as the house now... opened it up, but without sacrificing the wonderful shade it provides.

It sounds like you had a scare there for a bit. Ours are still little. We moved into this house from California, Sacramento almost two years ago. So the trees are not big enough to provide any shade. And they are the slooooow growing oaks. So no shade anytime soon. :(

i had to have 2 big pines trees cut recently... one was completely dead and the other was on its way... pine beetles got them.

quotes were like $1000 PER tree. i found a guy that did both for $325!

hehe

It wasn't too bad of a scare.. just concerned that we'd lose the tree... this one (and one other that you can't really see in my shot) are maples.. they have doubled in size in the first 12-13 years we were here.

'Cmon All, I know everyone has a place to live. Be it a house or an appartment, or even a trailer :). You must have a picture of it somewhere in your PC files. Post it here.

Snow Day - 04-06-2005, 05:48 PM

Here's our house in East Fort Worth. This shot was taken in the early morning on Valentine's Day, 2004 -- a rare snow day for North Texas.

The slightly bowed Bradford Pear Tree in the picture on the left broke completely in half during a strong windstorm in June of last year and has since been replaced with a (much smaller) Lacy Bark Elm.

Florida Baby! - 04-06-2005, 08:57 PM

Hey guys, Well, in Fort Worth I have an Apartment, but I do have a house in Florida. Here's a stich of it I made right after the new landscaping was completed, we lost 3 Mango tree's in the Hurricanes this past year, and added a circular drive. (that tree on the right is another mango that lost quite a few branches.)

Well, when I moved to Texas, I was told everything was bigger here. Little did I know...(sorry about the vignetting, it just didn't fit!)

Bill,

I had no idea. I always thought the homes in North Richland Hills were swank.

Maybe, since you're working so hard, Abel will put up another PayPal donate button for you. We all could at least chip in and buy you a lawnmower. :)
