I went to The Orange Show last weekend. If you don't know what it is, The Orange Show is a folk art structure created by a Houston postman. He worked on it for over 20 years until his death. The Orange Show foundation is responsible for the Art Car Parade, owns the Beer Can House and has really wonderful Eyeopener tours that show you the quirky side of Houston. Only in Texas, could something this strange become attractive. Houston particularly seems to garner more than its fair share of this kind of stuff. I sometimes think Houston can be much more eclectic than EVEN Austin...and that IS saying a lot. :lol:

I think the difference is in "eclectic per square mile"!

That's a good one. Although I've never lived in Austin, I did spend almost a decade in Houston in the 1970's. For a brief period, I had some affiliation with the radio station KPFT and the whole crowd that hung out around there. Of course, the Montrose area was always "something else;" No way to define it at all.
