CANCELLED - Group Shoot: Photo Taking Expedition - Houston Sunday Aug 27th

Sorry guys, but this event has been cancelled. I've had a hard time deciding whether to cancel it or not, but it seems like I will not be able to attend for the event. Since I haven't found anyone interested in taking over to coordinate, I unfortunately think the best thing to do is cancel the event.

My sister is technically getting married on Saturday Aug 26th and the judge will be coming to her house to perform the ceremony. The real wedding ceremony isn't until November, but my family is very interested in going for the judge's court ceremony. I will be in San Antonio and Austin all weekend for this stuff and so will not be able to come back for this event.

Let's hope that we can try this event again in a later month. Someone did mention that we should do this when the weather is less hot - and I think that is something to think about later in the year.

I'll be PMing everyone on the list so they know the event is cancelled. Sorry about the letdown for anyone, but let's try it again sometime later.

Yep, we've done it several times here in Houston:
First one was a zoo meetup
then a Brazos Bend
we did a Downtown one a couple of months ago (even had some Dallas people show up for that one)
And a Mercer Arboretum one was done too.

Many people are game for this type of thing.

I would be up for a weekend, afternoon-evening-past dark, large group and maybe heavily armed (just kidding about the last bit) ramble around downtown Houston with cameras. I really want to get into the city near/after dark but I am reluctant to go alone.

Maybe we can meet on a Sunday evening in August? That's a nice lazy day and gives folks who are not willing or able to come into downtown after work a chance to join. I think around 6 or 7pm may be good - so the heat will start dwindling down.

We could possibly meet on the 6th, 13th or 27th in August. I guess the 20th may be a possibility also - there are already two TPF events going on that day - so it really depends on peoples desires. I might not be in town on the 20th, but if it works for others - the 20th may be a good way to have a downtown group shooting.

Anyhow, I agree with Wayne - lets see if there is an interest in going as a group before planning too much
