TPF Members Artificial lighting Class - 05-02-2005, 02:34 PM

After a previous post about lighting classes etc. I decided to offer this to the Members here... If you would like to know more about Studio/Artificial lighting out of a Studio Setting, I would do it for this forum if enough people here in town would be interested, $20.00, 15 People, about 5 hours...and yes, bring your Cameras LOL....so you all can look at my site and email me if interest.....also for an extra $10-20 I could get 1 or 2 Models to show up instead of shooting each other LOL ( and at least beter looking objects to shoot ) so For the ones interested, let me know if weekend or weeknights is better or which days are better and times (keep in mind it would be about 5 hours and there are always possibilities of going over time) and if interested on me getting Models for it as well. If I get enough interest then we can schedule it.....

************************************************** *********

Well..so far we got 2 interested....if we get enough then we may be able to do it this Sunday afternoon...say arround 2:30pm after everyone gets out of church and had lunch? well...let me know quick so I can Secure the Models (Since the 2 interested have expressed interest on having Models available) and the Location, the Possible Location may be a House near Memorial and Voss area, so lets get the Ball rolling. Remember, it is not a Shoot-out, it is an interactive class, so bring your Cameras (SLR preferably)and Laptops if you have any...and even if you don't have a camera, no problem, you will still learn the same as others, we will be discussing Strobes and Hot lighting, etc. so you will be able to also see with your eves which method you prefer and also what to look when buying your equipment if you haven't done it yet...and if you are a new Model, the class will help you as well to know what to expect and what to do when photographers are using certain lighting set up with you, so it would be a Jam pack simple class design for anyone on any side of the lens, no text books needed for this class, bring pen and paper if you think you may not remember and may need to get notes, but I will try to make it in a way that you can relate and remember the core of using lighting so you can take it a step further and adapt it to your personal style of shooting.

ok! so far we got 4 and counting....I just talked to one of the Models I have used in the past and has been busy in the Modeling world and has been published in several Magazines in town including 002 and other fitness magazines and she is available on Sundays for me, so depending on the responses and who is available the soonest we can do it would be this Sunday 2:30ish, location TBA, so I would need a show of hands for this Sunday, or what other weekends or days would be better for you all...I am thinking 2 Models so we can rotate them while they change outfits etc. and not waste time and also for comparison on diferent characteristics etc. so Total cost would be $40.00 for 5 hours of class and 2 Models, Max class size will be 10-15 that way I can ensure the good Models $100-150 each

If the day changes, I would be very interested, unfortunately I won't be home this weekend or next week. If not this one then perhaps you will offer another class soon.

Have fun,
Greg

Sunday is Mother's Day. After that, I won't be in town until the weekend after Memorial Day.

I forgot about Mother's day this weekend, and I guess lots of you are traveling so it will always be hard to accomodate everyone...as someone mentioned about making this a bit regular, not sure, it all will depend on who attends and I imagine having a diferent class each time, perhaphs one on the art of re-touching retouching with Photoshop, preparing files for printing, etc.

So, since this weekend is actually not going to be a good one, I Need a show of hands for Next weekend, either Saturday or Sunday still open for me, so if you can make it either day let us know, or if you can only make it one of the days let us know too, that way we can acomodate the Majority of you, The Model I mentioned above will only be in town foe a few weeks and then she is off traveling again, so let me know and we can plan this thing.

Thanks to all who has responded and the support!

Well, I can't make it that weekend (daughter's got a pool party Saturday and I fly out Sunday morning.) I'll have to wait for the next round.

This sounds like a great opportunity. Are you still going to do it on Mother's day?
