Photoshop CS2 Power Tour - January 29 - 11-18-2006, 10:25 AM

Just saw on the Photoshop Seminars website (www.photoshopseminars.com) that Dave Cross will be teaching the Photoshop CS2 Power Tour here at GRB on January 29.

I took this class about a year and a half ago in L.A. with Scott Kelby - it's well worth the price.

Thanks for the info. I'll prolly sign up for this class. I wanted to take the Photoshop for Photographers class when it was in Houston last year, but I missed it. Looking at the outline for the Photoshop CS2 Power tour, it looks like the class has many of the things I wanted to get out of the Photoshop for Photographers class (improved work flow, color management, etc).

Thanks Charles for the heads up about this class. I just joined NAPP and signed up for the class. I took the Photoshop for Photographers class last Jan and loved it.

Here's the link to the info page. http://www.photoshopseminars.com/class/92 I believe it's $99, click on the "Register" tab and it'll display page with pricing.

I guess now is a good time to reinstall CS2 and start messing with it again.

The class is geared towards everyone. If you know the basics of Photoshop, you'll get something out of this (or any of the other classes that are offered...and hopefully will come to Houston).

It's also a good place to pick up some of the latest books and DVD's at a discount. If you can't make it, try and go during lunch to see what books/DVD's are available.

Thanks so much for posting that, Charles! I couldn't tell from the website - what is the format of their seminars? Is it hands-on? Do people bring laptops? Or is it more like a lecture where you take notes and try it at home later?

I don't actually have CS2 yet (wondering if I can hold out on upgrading from Elements 2 until CS3 comes out...) but I'm sure the information would be useful if I can get the day off work!

You actually don't have to take notes. A nice workbook is included in the price of admission. You can take notes if you like, there's a few pages in the back of the workbook for your notes. The workbook pretty much follows the lecture word for word. I think I saw a few laptops last year but not many. I still pull out my workbook from last year occasionally when I have forgotten some of the steps.
One other thing, you only have an hour for lunch and there's not much around so I'll be bringing my lunch this time.

When I went to the one in LA, there were a number of people with laptops. As Adcox said, it's pretty much a lecture of how to do [fill in the blank]. There are breaks where you can talk to Dave Cross (hint - wear something with Canada on it - bonus points) and others.
