Bridal Show in Houston NEXT WEEKEND

A few of us are going to get together and make a trip to the Bridal Show NEXT WEEKEND in Houston at the George R. Brown. If anyone wants to come along let me know. We will find a time and place to hook up and all go together. I have a few photographer friends which are doing the show I want to check out and it is always good to see what this field of business is doing, if you are interested in getting into it at all.

What is a bridal show? :D

Just like a Hunting Show :), Gun SHow, but only they have booths for Wedding stuff, bridal dress makers, Shoes, Photographers, etc etc.

do they let anyone take pictures? sounds like a good place to get some nice flower bouquet shots..and practice NOT blowing whites and getting the correct white balances...

thoughts? (and i have a 22 year old that could use some inspiration! :lol:

I am going to be there, because I am getting married. Already bought the tickets at randells for $16 a few weeks ago....Look for the tall person with the canon rebel xt around his neck...well maybe not, think I will bring the small camera this time...

BTW, are we allowed to bring camera's there?

I saw several with camera's last show we did in Jan. This is going to be a wild event with TONS of people filling the isles and you wont be able to find to many people unless you make plans to meet up somewhere beforehand or during the event at a specific location.


So with that said whoever would like to go lets set up a time and place to meet before hand (maybe do lunch somewhere close by) then get to the bridal show afterwards.

I think a few of the interested people have weddings to shoot or other photo jobs on Sat. so Sun would be better and several have meantioned the 1pm time for the show. So how does lunch sound on Sunday then head to the show around 1pm?

Open for any suggestions just let me know. The more people the better :) It will be nice going to one of these shows without actually doing one. I am letting a photographer barrow our pipe and drape background display set up as well as some lighting for the pictures so I will check on her booth but besides that I have no specific plans once I am there.

Most likely Sunday at 1:00pm lunch beforehand. Again several have jobs on Sat. so to get more together Sunday afternoon seems like the better option, at least right now.

I would love to join you on Sunday. I have a wedding to shoot on Saturday in Corpus Christi, but we were planning to return early on Sunday for the show. Let me know where to meet for lunch. I'll be coming from the Richwood-Lake Jackson area.

Do you know how much the tickets will be at the door? or other places to purchase them?

Do you think I should bring my Rebel XT or my small P&S Pentax WP? Also if I bring my XT, should I use the lens kit or the 50mm f/1.8?

Coming in from Beltway and 45 South so close to DT would be fine. We can always meet up in the greek district. Good food and then we can all carpool over to the GR Brown. Save parking money that way.
