Greetings TPF Members,
I am trying to see if there is any interest a group studio shoot next month. I have the opportunity to set up a fairly basic studio (one backdrop, a couple of Alien Bee strobes, and a few other items) and could invite a limited number of photographers to participate. Anyone participating that has studio equipment and wouldn't mind sharing it with the group is welcome to bring their stuff (although its not a condition of attending.) We'll need models (or aspiring models or wives or girlfriends) and I'm trying to arrange for a make up artist/hairstylist to be there, too. The first thing I'll be doing that day is some family portaits and anyone will be welcome to try their hand with that as well. When that family gets tired of sitting, though, we'll need models or we'll be taking pictures of each other.
It will be very informal. There won't be any lessons. Everything we do will be trial and error. It will definately be a try this, see how it works, move things around, and try it again kind of day. If you have some studio experience it will fun for the inexperienced to watch what you do. If you've never been in a studio before you'll have the chance to experiment. And if you just want to come out to see what an Alien Bee looks like, that's OK.
Since I won't be renting any gear, hope to find a MUA to come for free, and will only be looking for TFP models, there probably won't be any cost. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please reply to this post. If there is enough interest I'll create another thread with a few more details and start a sign up list. If you have questions, please post them here as well so everyone can see the answer. I'll try to check back as often as I can.
Have fun,
Greg
