Have a client I will be shooting at Hotel Icon downtown for a couple of days, I brought up street shooting at night around the area as something I would like to do and they love it. The client has called the mayors office and city events office and they told the client they did not see any need for a permit as long as the 5 person crew did not obstruct traffic. We will be using a couple of strobes with stands with a powerpack and a tripod. When I was told this information I had a hard time believing we would not need any permit, the client has a name reference to use if we get stopped etc., but I do not usually like using just names. Street shoot will be 1-2 hours on the street or sidewalk and wetting it down like in the movies.
Anybody done this in the area, did not see it in the search? If you have a contact number I can use please let me know so I can use it myself.
