April 4-5 are the only days of the 6 listed that work for me. Hope that works for enough folks to make it happen.

Thanks for asking about alternate dates Lee!

Kevin,

You could epoxy a 2509 reel into a permanent 3 1/4"x4 1/4" reel. There's a guy at LFPF looking to trade regular Jobo reels (35/120) for a 2509 reel. I just fiddled with mine and you could set the halves 3 1/4" apart and epoxy them in place.

The combi-tank should ship on the 31st. I 'll just go with it until I see what I am going to do. Its supposed to make a great film wash also.

There is a guy with a used Chamonix over there also, problem with his is you can buy a new one for almost the same price.

You could borrow my Yankee tank from Westley Clavey. Why didn't I think of that sooner? Out of sight, out of mind I suppose.

In fact you could borrow both Wayne's tank and my tank from me... and all the innards for both...

How come you guys don't offer cash. I could use about 2K just to get a good start...

Thats only 1K each. I would let you drool over the new equipment.

Kevin

What kind of scanner are you guys using. I may need to look for a multi-format film scanner. Whats good ?

Can't say what's good... I can only say what I have had success with... (or, reading between the lines, there is no guarantee that it is good...). I have an Epson 4990. I use both Epson Scan and the regular version of Silverfast (not the version that Epson distributed it with). I still use the regular film holders, although I would like to upgrade to the better scanning holders with the ANR glass.

Ditto.

I used Westley's 4990 (Thanks!) until I bought an even older Epson 1680 cheap. Today, the Epson V700-V750 twins are the only game in town for new/supported multi-format scanners. I get email coupons from Epson. This past Monday I got 1 day only 10% off coupon for scanners in the refurbished shop at Epson USA. The prices there are pretty good.

Everybody who owns them says that the Betterscanning film holders are great.

It's a short list. Epson 4990, V700, V750.

I'm open for pretty much every date except April 4th. My daughter's 18th birthday party, and I ain't missing it.

I've been using about a six-year-old Epson 3170 for scanning 35mm and 2-1/4 slides and negs. It can't do 4x5. It does a decent job with 35mm and an even better job with medium format. I use the Epson software that came with it and actually prefer it over a Silverfast demo I tried. I'd like to get a 4990 or better one of these days so I can also scan 4x5.

Best,

Michael
