Cool IR Convert - 01-28-2010, 03:05 PM

A good friend of mine has been shooting IR for quite some time. Always impressed with his work, I decided to shoot a couple of frames with his rig on our last photo trip. I wound up with this one, in Bryce Canyon NP:

As soon as I got back home and started post processing on that one, I was hooked. I immediately started researching and, to my surprise, decided on picking up a refurb Canon G10 and shipping it off to LifePixel for conversion.

It seemed to take forever to get it back, but that was most likely due to the holidays and shipping, so not necessarily their fault. Though part of that feeling could be my impatience

Anyhoo, by the time UPS dropped it off, I only had time to pop off a couple of test shots before having to go pick the kiddo up from daycare.

Over the next couple of days, I managed to get out and play a bit more, so I headed over to Old Alton Bridge on the NW side of Lake Lewisville and got the following:

As you can imagine, I'm about as happy as a kid in a candy store

Thanks for looking! Comments and Criticism are definitely welcome!

Ooo, I could see myself getting hooked on that too! Very, very cool! I especially like the color bridge.

I've shot in IR a few times, including landscapes and portraits. Human eyes look odd in IR.
