I went to the Dallas Arboretum and played with my D70.
As one person said experiment and then post.

Try playing with the pictures in your software program a little...here is a really quick and dirty...with your 77K file....

You're off to a good beginning. Try reducing your exposure a little; I like the histogram to be to the left some (darker exposure), and in post processing, you'll need to remove noise (always more of a problem in IR) - I use NoiseNinja. And, as suggested already, contrast in IR photos OOC will be flat and needs to be boosted.
