I really like it except for the top right 1/3rd of the photo. The out of focus leaves and branches are distracting. The placement of the man at the fence and the horse are good. Would you share about your camera and technique?

Boy, you're right, that is annoying. I don't know why that didn't bug me before but it sure does now. Maybe it's that I cropped the original image and that foreground branch became more prevalent, I dunno.

Anyway, it was shot with a Nikon D100 that I converted to IR using a custom white balance and then processed as a black-n-white image.

Here's one where I adjusted the colors just a little bit. Not sure I like it but I haven't gotten a chance to explore false color IR's very much (yet...).

Joe, Since you asked about the horse... I looked. I see four horses and three rider easily, perhaps one other rider that is to small to tell for you, and the person leaning on the corral of course.

Maybe re-cropping this as a pano from just below the foreground leaves that are bothering you now would help accent the IR details.

Joe...the first picture...I sorta like the out of focus...leaves it gives the image depth...but just my tastes...the second picture I love your skys...great capture...I always loved the pictures that my D100's produced...
