Critique: CC:

A friend was nice enough to loan me his filter for some IR practice. First time taking photos and editing. Exposure and editing was all some guess work.

I was having problems getting anything I liked using gimp, so I wussed out and used LR for all of the editing. Let me know what you think.

Audrey, both #1 & #2 have a very strong 3 dimensional quality to them. I personally am not a fan of the faux color IR pictures - - I convert all mine to B&W, and I think that there is a chance that both of these would look good converted - - at least, I think #1 would. I'm not sure it would be an easy conversion - - I think it would need some attention to the mid-range values & contrast to make it look right, but I suspect it would work.

But even if you do not do that, I think the 3-dimensionality make it a special image.

I welcome comments on any picture I post... Thanks.

#2 is my favorite too. I'd adjust the tones a little to get it less in the yellows.

Did a little more messing around, but I imagine I'll be reediting these many, many times.

It's interesting, the shot with the bridge tends to invoke a lot of images for me. The first one that is rather yellow reminds me of an asian cloth, old and maybe even tea stained. The new edit I posted reminds me of an artist who used to paint snow scenes on mirrors; they were all the rage in Estes Park in the 90's.
