I'm a stay-at-home mom with three beautiful (and very photogenic I might add ) girls, as well as a part-time bar tender for Stockyards Wines in the Ft Worth Stockyards. After much nagging I finally got my first DSLR last month as a birthday present and I'm loving every minute of it! I would absolutely love to make it to a professional status someday, but I have so much to learn about photography I'm sure I'll be ready to send my kids off to college before I get it all down. HA! So if anyone ever needs an assistant I'd love to tag along to learn something!

Welcome from East Texas. I have three boys and they don't like being photographed that much. At least they try for their dear ol' dad. Photographing your children is a great place to start when learning portraits.

my boys love the camera too much, lol....I had my 7year old pose for me, he on his own, sat down in the chair, place his elbow on his knee, and rested his chin on his fist, what really got me was he looked off into the distance as if slightly out of view of the camera. it really made a great picture. sun set behind him too, made his soft fair skin as soft as could be and his blue eyes bluer than ever.
