Thumbs up howdy from College Station - 12-30-2009, 10:51 AM

I should say "Levelland" as that's where I'm at right now, watching the snow melt.

I grew up in west texas but my regular home at the moment is College Station. I'm a full-time grad-student at A&M. I picked up an old Canon MF in about 1996 when I was old enough to drive to the mountains in NM by myself and just learned from scratch. Most of my work has been in the Sacramento, Capitan and Guadalupe Mountains, Big Bend N.P., Chihuahuan Desert (White Sands) and Gila Wilderness.

Mere survival has stunted my growth as a photographer in that last 5 years, however, and I hope to change that in 2010. That's why I joined this forum.

Primary interests are landscape, nature and natural-abstract (don't know what you call the latter but whatever, that's why I'm here).

In addition to digital, I want to learn a little about medium format (film) and haven't found much discussion around here for that yet, so if anyone is into that I would appreciate hearing from you!

Welcome, and Howdy Jason.
I graduated A&M in 1980 - took photgraphy there, and have loved it ever since!
My A&M roomate had a farm in Levelland (White Face Farms, i think)!
You will enjoy the forum, as there are many knowledgeable people in here!
