Hi Ya'll from Fort Worth

Hello and good morning/afternoon/night to you all.
I am just your usual photo hobbyist, love taking photographs. I take lots of photos of products for a few people, of little family members, and everything in between.

I am a freelance graphic designer by day, originally from Puerto Rico. DFW has been my home for most of my life though, and I enjoy Texas and its bi-polar weather. Photography has always interested me, but I have never had the means to practice it often. Point and shoots were not cutting it, since I just didn't have the control. Quite a few years back, my dad let me borrow his Canon SLR and I ripped through film often. Then a few recent years back, I got ahold of another Canon SLR and enjoyed its use. About 2 weeks back I won a Nikon D3000 in a local design contest. So now I have my own gear, and it's digital.

So yes, I am new to it, but I love to learn new things, methods, ideas, etc. I will use this forum like my manual and better my photographing skills.

There are many places in Fort Worth and the surrounding area to shoot, so I hope to get to it soon. I'm actually hoping for some snow this winter!
