So... I have decided today to actually join this site and start posting instead of being a crazy stalker / chicken. So I must begin by publicly apologizing for being a creeper.

I'm Laura, I come from a family of photographers, and so I was pretty much born behind the lens... However, that means absolutely nothing because other than a few competitions here and there I didn't really begin to take it seriously until last year when I had some family get married on a big time budget. They asked me to photograph their wedding that was two weeks away, and at this time all I had was a P&S and definitely not the cash to upgrade, so I researched my black little heart out for two weeks to see what wedding photography was all about but instead of panicking, I got EXCITED! I did the best I could with my two weeks of knowledge and they loved them.

Truthfully, the photos were about as good as a $50 craigslist shooter's, but the family was happy and lived happily ever after. From this experience, I had ignited a PASSION within myself.

I learned what I could with a P&S, and after being laid off TWICE, I finally got my DSLR 6 months ago and entered the world of shooting manually. My family now thinks I'm a cyclops because they haven't seen my eyes from behind that lens since.

Hopefully this brings you up to speed. :) I am honored to be in the presence of the buckets full of talent that those on this site have. Hopefully we can be good friends.
