Hi there. I'm definitely an amateur but pretty good at it! I don't have an SLR but can't wait to get one! Just need the money first! :D I've taken many photos and love to do it. Recently I was asked to do some family photos for two friends of mine but the problem is.. i want to have a good list of locations before really getting involved in taking photos for people.

I have lived here most of my life and I've seen local photographers take amazing photos at beautiful locations. I've asked a couple of those photographers where they were taken but no luck in a response. Are they not wanting to give away their secrets? :(

How else am I supposed to learn about all the amazing places to photograph people. I wish i was more creative in locations for photo shoots but I guess I have some work to do in that area.

Railroads are my favorite. If i could find an awesome railroad location i would be so happy. I don't mind traveling an hour to get there if it was worth it. Beach shots will be easy here. I love a great meadow type area... or field.

Does anyone have any tips on locations in the south texas/corpus christi area! PLEASE!

Hi welcome to TPF! Railroads are a hot topic here because of the safety and trespassing issues typically you will be advised to stay away. If I was down there the fishing boats would be a biggie for me and there used to be an old helicopter on one of the main roads. Also I recall a rock jetty one could walk out on. Please chose locations wisely so that there is no trespassing or using of private property in the background without the owners permission. It just takes one bad apple to make it hard for the rest of us.
Very excited to have you join up with us and make use of possibly the best resource on the 'net.

If I were you I would simply browse the galleries of the photogs' on here for ideas. Thats what I do.

Mine is also publicly viewable, maybe it will give you some ideas. The URL is in my signature. A few of my albums are from your area.

Corpus Christi is a neat place.

It was there I learned to take a polarizing filter off of your camera before doing sunrise beach-side pelican photos. Unfortunately, a day later.
