I got a Nikon D3100 a few months ago and have been trying to learn as much as I can about it since then. I would love to meet up with others in the area and find new spots to shoot.

welcome to TPF! i don't think there's a lot of interesting stuff ~in~ the SL to shoot besides parks and the like.. maybe 'cause I grew up here. check the Houston threads to find new locales and meetups :]

sugar mill makes an interesting backdrop. <shrug> the new base ball stadium will be cool. town center. lots of parks and water fountains...

I went up to Lost Creek Park which has some decent shots, going to Galveston in a few weeks which will be fun as well. And going on a cruise in about a month to the Bahamas which I am hoping to get some more great shots.

ehhh I grew up around here - down the road from sugar mill. seen it all, and probably have pictures of most of it. it's boring to me, since I've been here 19 of my 24 years. don't get me wrong, it's very nice and everything.. there's just much interesting things everywhere else

I went to Sugar Mill and grew up in Sugar Land, when Westbelfort was the Houston City limits and HWY 6 was only 2 lanes going and 2 lanes coming!
