I discovered this site while googling and just had to join. I'm also a member of the Texas Photo Forum, which is run by our same administrator, Abel, and very well run at that. The TPF has been around for a while, and has become a very popular site for Texas photographers. There are some very talented folks who frequent it. So, I figured that since this site is run by Abel, it must be good.
As for me, I'm Texas born and raised in Houston. I moved to California in 1975 as a young adult, and called California my home up until 1998, at which time I moved back to Houston. Been here ever since. But I'll be honest with you -- there's scarcely a week that goes by when my family and I don't reminisce about California. My 18yo daughter was born in Los Angeles, my wife, who is from Taiwan originally, spent 15 years in the LA area before we moved to Texas, and I spent most of my adult life there.
You folks are blessed with some of the best scenery and climate on Earth. Texas is none too shabby in that department, but I don't mind admitting, as much as I love Texas, you folks have the edge.
If you're interested, take a look at the photos at my Flickr page. Almost all of the photos I have there are scans of slides I took back in the 80s and early 90s, and are from various scenes and events I experienced in California.
So, even though I live in Texas now, in many ways, my heart is still way out west, and my eyes are still cast toward the vast Pacific.
Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving, by the way. Time for me to go eat turkey. Be back soon.
