Talking Hello pixtus! - 07-01-2011, 06:13 PM

Sup!

Name's Ashley, I'm a guy (always a little annoying to have to tack on that piece of information) I have a D200, and I'm a bit of a n00b

I like photographing cars, still-life, and animals, and hate photographing people

I'm on G35Driver.com under the same username and a contributing member of the site's surprisingly active photography section.

Here's one of my fav. shots:

And here's some more of my work: Misc Photography

Welcome from Texas. I don't know anything about shooting cars, but it looks good to me. There are lots of car junkies on this site, so I'm sure you'll find lots of people to talk to.

The rear wheel being fuzzy does not work. IMHO

I didn't really ask for C&C, but that's ok I guess

That particular "shot" was actually ~50 individual shots taken with a 50mm 1.8 wide-open, panning back-and-forth on a tripod, then stitched together in PS.

The idea of the shot was an extremely thin DoF with an extremely wide angle, something that would traditionally be either impossible or require a very expensive/special purpose lens, but that I did with a $80 lens.
It was originally more of a practice/test shot, but I really liked the way it came out.

Is this site Texas specific?

Nope, we have a large Texas base because this was originally a Texas forum and a California forum that were combined and then went world wide. As for the Texas part, even before the change we had members from across the country and around the world.

Don't worry, we aren't that scary.

Let the first car junkie say, I like it. The car reminds me of Kevin Flynn's white lightbike from Tron: Legacy.....by the way, i'm a nerd too.
