So I'm a 32 yr old gamer nerdy gal who finds that shes happiest taking photos. I am not a professional, though friends have urged me to pursue it. Our own self doubt can get us, can't it? I always think, I know I like it, but will others? And so I am hoping to learn a lot here. Anything I've learned so far was just through experimenting. I've been working since I was 15, FT since graduating HS, so I've never had the money to really buy the newest and greatest cameras. For now I have my Canon Rebel XS, and it works for me until I can afford something nicer, and I'm more knowledgeable with all the manual functions. No point in buying something more expensive if I wouldn't know how to best utilize it anyways! ;) Here's one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken, hope its decent enough to be here and I'm not embarrassing myself by showing it lol! Thats one nasty looking spider! Don't be so harsh on yourself about your photography, the more you shoot the better you will become. Thanks for sharing with us your favorite so far and keep us posted with more of your favorites along the way! |

Welcome from Texas! Not everyone on here is a professional so don't worry! Love the shot of the spider. What type is that? There used to be one of those outside of my fathers house. Welcome Felicia, I leaned on a full manual 35mm camera so I know what you are saying. I recommend you get involved with others that have your same interests. There must be several camera clubs in your area - I'd recommend you join them.
