Hi from Seattle! - 07-27-2011, 10:15 PM

I'm Claudia Cooper. I've been around photography most of my life since my dad was a photographer. I've always loved it but didn't start wondering how to take better photos until a few years ago. I think I've outgrown my Canon Rebel T1i, though I've added some decent lenses for now. I love travel photography, but also enjoy nature, macros and abstracts. It seems the more I read about photography, the more I realize how much I need to know!

Looking forward to sharing photos, tips, ideas and inspiration.

Upgrading Canon Camera Body - 07-28-2011, 11:36 AM

Right now I've got a Canon Rebel T1i body and standard lens it came with. I can see where a higher range of ISOs would be nice and also have a camera that could better handle ISOs of 400 and above.

I've already looked at pricing of a 5D and it looks to be around $2500 or so. For now, I've been adding to my lens collection. If I thought I could sell some of my work, that could help justify the cost of the new camera body.

What's your opinion - keep working with the Rebel body and see how far I could go with that before upgrading?

I'd wear out the camera body before upgrading. If your going to buy anything for now I'd suggest buying good lenses.

Here is a thread about flickr Getty and stock sales, you could look into that as a way to sell your pictures.
