Hello everyone - 10-06-2011, 05:34 PM

Very new to photography. I had a nikkon years ago with two lens. Dont remember what model, lost camera and lens in a flood(left camera on backseat floor of my car...UGH!!). I reside in Houston, but from Miami,Fla. Looking to buy a DSLR in the near future. Will be more like a hobby to start off, who knows from there. Im just educating myself on fundamentals of cameras, and on here to learn from the professionals on the site. Still debating on a Canon or Nikon.

welcome...

you can find some great info on our new cheat sheets located here:
Pixtus Photography Cheat Sheet

Both nikon and canon make great cameras and you will not be disappointed with whichever you choose. the best thing to do is to read up on them both that fall in your budget, then maybe visit a store and test them out in person. a lot has to be said for comfort and build quality etc.

best of luck and if you have any question please feel free to ask as many of our members are always willing to help

welcome homer to Pixtus, no worry on getting a camera....
Read and take your time on choosing a camera on what you like and don't like.
If you have a smart phone, you can take pics with that and also down load some software to edit pics, which is another option....

I know I love my iphone and apps!!!
