Hello (Brian)

Hi there. My name is Brian. I've been shooting an SLR for about 3 years. The past year has been pretty exciting. I've met a number of local (Dallas) professional photographers, made lots of friends, have sold some of my work, been published a few times (Art+Seek, 35 Conferette, Observer) shot a wedding, etc. I have a fair grasp now on what my camera's doing, so that's freeing me up to be more creative and to develop my own style.

For the past 2 years, I've been self employed, mostly IT work. I'm a certified Apple Consultant and FileMaker database developer. I did that for almost 15 years before being laid off.

Primarily what I shoot now is live music. All over Deep Ellum, The Kessler in Oak Cliff, The Granada Theater in Dallas. I shoot primes and use whatever light is available. I very recently picked up a Canon 5D Mark II (love), after spending a couple of years shooting a Rebel and xxD models.

I use Aperture 3 for all of my post work. Current computer is an 21.5" iMac stuffed with RAM.

This is probably more than you care to know. Ha. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meet everyone, to learn, and maybe have an opportunity to help others as I can.
