Hello, my name is Clint and I just joined, been looking for a good place to share and view photos. I love photography. It is an incredible outlet. I got into it when I was in high school just taking snapshots of friends being goofy. When I was 17 I bought a Canon Rebel, film. I loved it and started taking pictures for the yearbook. As time went on I started getting more and more interested in it and in college took a course. I learned all about aperture and so forth and that just blew the door open for me. I got my first digital, Canon 10D, about two years ago and that has helped me learn like nothing else could. I just had the freedom to take picture all day long and not have to worry about the cost. I have learned allot through trial and error and have grown immensely from where I started even a year ago, but that only means I have still have much MUCH more to learn. I now have a Canon 20D and have spent far too much money on my equipment, but only because I plain to make this make me money. Here is what I have on the web so far, take a look and please leave comments on the photos or the entire gallery so that I can know who has been looking and what they thought of my work. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy if you want to look. www.pbase.com/jackcruise

Glad you're here. I also like your PAD gallery. Keep up the good work; you've a very good eye for color and composition.

Be sure to post some of your favorites, as you take them, here on TPF for the sake of those who won't have viewed your PBase site.

Welcome to the group, its a real fun place and I am sure will enjoy it.

I have been looking though your Pbase site and you have so really nice shots.

I will have to make this comment, I know a lot of people are using the same setup as you for their galleries, but it is sure hard to see some of the images unless you open them up. I use it the roll over for a little bit and then went back to the plan gallery, they are just easier to see, and the really outstanding ones will pop out at you more.

Bill I didn't quite understand what you said. You changed the look of your gallery to make the best ones pop more. How did you do this. I love Pbase for one reason easy way to get all my photos up on the net. It looks great and hardly any set-up. What I really want is to get my own site, but then will have to go through the grueling part of trying to set the site up, who knows I might have fun with it but right now I seem to dread making one.

Howdy,
Welcome the the forum.
If you are really serious about making a living at this you might want to look at the Dallas Professional Photographers Assoc. www.dallasppa.com
I've been a member since the 70's and it has been a terrific learning experience for me. They meet the second Tuesday of each month and they are really a friendly group.

First, I will have to say I love your screen name, it hit me about 30 min., after I read you post..... That is a great one..

On Pbase, I am with you, I love the site and all you can do with it. What I was talking about is the roll over.
I just change this gallery. http://www.pbase.com/wlhuber/though_the_glass

Now look at it and notice that when you scroll down the page there is nothing that jumps out at you, you have to roll over each image to see what it really is. The whole page is kind of dark looking and has not a lot of color to grab the eye.

Now go look at this one. http://www.pbase.com/wlhuber/ftw_butterflies

To me and its just me the images pop out at you more. Now you do have to remember there are a lot of people out there with monitors that are not setup very well and are dark.

Now don't get to hung up on this, I am just a person that has an opinion on just about everything, and I voice it.....
