Newbie from SW Houston - 11-05-2006, 03:55 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie photographer from SW Houston(sugar land area) that's trying to get my feet wet in photography. I currently go to school in galveston and I'm about to purchase my first digital SLR. I think the beach scenary over here kind of inspired me more into getting photography.

I think mostly what I'll be shooting is scenary, sports and pets(I have a super hyper puppy that doesnt stop moving ) I narrowed my options down to either the D50 or the rebel xt. I'm leaning towards the D50, mostly because I like how it feels in my hand but if anyone wants to convince me to go canon feel free to do so .

If anyone has a good price on a d50 let me know....I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here at tpf!
