Morning kiddos (even though I'm probably one of the younger ones here). My name's Cody and I found this site hoping to learn what you know. I've been in to photography since high school in one form or another, but I just recently made the leap to a DSLR. I've had this 10D for about 8 months and every time I use it, I want to delve further and further into this photography ish.

My main passion photography-wise is automotive photography. I'm currently a media staff member for my euro car club, European Auto Gruppe and love it! Even though my crew gives me plenty of chances to snap some shots, I'm sort of trying to branch out and shoot more diverse subjects.

Well, hopefully I'll be around here for a bit and can soak up all the knowledge that I can. Maybe even dish out what little knowledge I have on post processing, being a graphic designer.

Cliff's: I'm new, and hello all.

Welcome
You'll find all kinds of good advice here from lots of folks with lots of experience, and some with only a little experience. I always listen to what people have to say regardless of their experience because they may see something in a different light than I do. And in photography, seeing a different light is a real asset.

Welcome and where is H-Tizzle?

---------------------------
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I live out in the Cypress area. It's a shame that it's a great place to live, but I haven't found very many places around here that struck me as good places to take shots.

There's some nice places- you just have to look.

Some people have set up websites just to help others in the Houston area find places to shoot.

Places I like and visit fairly often: Japanese Gardens (near the zoo), San Jacinto SP, Brazos Bend SP, Sam Houston Park (place with the old houses and skyline on the edge of Downtown), Mercer & Houston Arboretums (Mercer has better flowers).

What type of shots are you looking for?

Yea, Brien, I had looked real quick like at your forum and it looks like a great resource. Those were some great recommendations that I've wanted to go snap some shots at a few of them, I just was meaning more local to me.

You know, I'm not all that picky, atm. I guess I just need to keep my artsy hat on at all times, even when I'm just putzing around town. I have a tendency to just zone out and get from point a to b.

I am of legal age to seek after and acquire a common skill known as the ability to safely maneuver a system of mechanisms from an initial point and along a predefined space curve, with the first derivitave of the position function of the center of mass of that system having a predefined upper bound.

You win! I'm 22. So you're what? 17? 18?
