Old Guy in Aggieland - 11-30-2006, 04:50 PM

Howdy (as we all say here in Aggieland)

I grew up in San Antonio where my dad was a professional photographer running the lab for the Southwest Research Institute for 30+ years. I started in photography carrying boxes of 4x5 film holders and flashbulbs for him as he shot weddings on weekends then helping him "soup" the prints.

I was the school photographer for Thomas Jefferson HS in the mid 60's. Got an award for sports photography for some of the shots I got at football games. Continued to shoot for the school when I went to college at Howard Payne in Brownwood. Did some freelance work, too.

I went into the Christian Ministry after school and have mostly taken family and travel pics with a few "professional" shoots of weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Had a pretty good color & B/W darkroom until a few years ago. Ran out of room and sold everything.

Went digital with a Fuji S-1 Pro DSLR to use most of the Nikon film equipment I have accumulated over the years. Have taken a couple of Photoshop classes, and am REALLY enjoying all I can do with it. Here's a shot of my granddaughter on her trike in her garage that photoshop helped A BUNCH

Howdy. I'm not an Aggie, but half the people I know are, for some reason. They were sure tickled a week or two ago, too. But welcome to the forum.
