I've been taking pictures for a long time. The first camera I remember having was an Argus C-3 back in the 1960's. (Yes, I'm getting pretty old...) I had a Sears 35mm SLR for a while way back when, and various plastic fixed-focus cameras along the way. When Sony came out with the Mavica FD7 in 1997, I had to have one, so I bought it. I bought another later model Mavica, then a Toshiba, and then a Minolta Dimage 7i. Up until this point, I was a shapshot photographer. I really didn't know that much about it. But in the last three years or so, I've learned a lot.
Six months ago, I bought the D70. Wow! What a camera! And it looks impressive, especially with the 70-200mm VR mounted. This weekend, I took pictures of the Christmas parade in the town where I live, Lancaster, and they treated me like I was the press! They were even posing for me.
I have entered pictures in the State Fair of Texas creative arts competition for the last several years.
http://www.bigtex.com/creativearts.html I won a first place in 2002, and again in 2003, and this year, I won two second places. BTW, you don't have to be in Dallas to enter a photo in State Fair.
I am the photographer for Cedar Valley College's Family Music Theater - I take pictures of each production. That's quite a challenge. Flash is not allowed, and the lighting is low. An album of their most recent production, Annie, is posted to my web site.
http://billhall.net/annie Sorry about the thumbnail pages - they're slow to load. I'm playing with some alternate methods of doing picture albums.
What else?
I am an Embedded Software Engineer for Fluke Electronics. My part of the company makes telephone line test equipment. Here's our flagship product that I did most of the high-level code for:
http://www.flukenetworks.com/us/Tele...o/Overview.htm I also have my own web servers that host web pages and email for myself, various family members, my church, and my artist's co-op.
I'm a potter - I throw on the wheel. I have had ribbon winners at the State Fair every year since 1997. One of my pieces won Best of Show this year. That was my second Best of Show. I display my work at Mud, Wind and Fire, an artist's co-op.

I play saxophone, and own seven saxes. And, except for one of them, they're all different kinds. I have a soprano, two altos, a tenor, a baritone, a C soprano, and a C melody. I also have a MIDI wind controller, a clarinet, and a flute, though I can't really play the flute. I play mostly in church, but have played in several productions at Cedar Valley College.
But enought about me. Who are the rest of you guys / gals? ;-)
