Hello all, been surfing here for a while but never much to say. More of a sponge right now, just soaking it all in. Learning wirth a Canon Xti and kit lens and took the first step this week with a 24-105 4L. Whatta difference! Thanks for the efforts put into the forum! For a newbie without a real camera shop where I can go to ask questions. This is a great resource! Matt |

Welcome to TPF! I went to high school in Bullard, Tx - lots of great photo opportunities out that way! I thought there was a camera shop in Tyler, off Broadway...but thinking about it, they didn't have a lot in the way of equipment last time I was in there. You'll find it's worth the drive into Arlington (Arlington Camera) or Fort Worth (Fort Worth Camera Supply)...both stores are excellent (IMO), although I tend to lean towards Jeff's shop over in Fort Worth... |

Welcome neighbor! The L lenses do help a lot. I upgraded from the 28-135 IS USM to the 24-105 f4L a couple months ago and there was a real noticable difference. |

Thank y'all! There was a shop here but they hadn't carried much stock for the last year or so. I'll check out Arlington camera and Fort Worth Camera supply. I've been to the shop in Longview. Good stock but sticker shock for me! |
