Tracie, great photos. I was there last month but was not as fortunate as you to get good sun coming down the slot canyons.

Surely one of the most photographed scenes in America, but you've done it great justice.

I don't care how many people photograph it. Those swirls are amazing!

How hard is it to get into there with your camera, tripod(?), etc? And any worries with gear and sand that requires additional protections?

Beautiful shots. We're hoping to go next year.

Andy, there are two Antelope canyons. Upper & Lower or North & South. One of those fills up. Go to the other one. Also, go when everybody else is at home. Like January.

There was one guy that I had to gently remind that he wasn't the only photographer in the canyon.

BUT, in the end, it was worth it bringing my 4x5.

Andy, definitely bring your tripod. You'll have people going by you so pick areas
that give you room to place the tripod. When walking around just collapse the legs
to get around tight corners.
The sand is no worry. Just change lenses quickly and you'll be fine.
Where you'll have sand/soil problems is with the red soil particularly in Monument Valley.
With wind you'll have a hard time changing lenses. You will also have to do a good cleaning after each shoot.

Buy a small changing bag, the kind us fossils use for film. Put the camera and new lens in the bag. Change lenses. Take everything out of the bag. No worries.

Wayne, I've had changing bags and unfortunately they would be too small for my use. But, a clear plastic bag, big enough to hold camera and two lenses (say, one 500mm for the extra room) and thin enough to fold and put into a pocket. Being clear we can see what we're doing while making the changes. Great idea...
