Santa Maddalena (Val the Funes, Italy) - 07-01-2010, 02:10 AM

This picture was taken in a little village called Santa Maddalena in Val de Funes (Dolomiti). While driving to Santa Maddalena from the Autostrada, you can not imagine such a scene would appear and then it suddenly does...

All evening when I was there, it was completely overcast and I kept wishing for sun light to filter through some how into the valley and make the valley glow in golden light... but that did not happen...

However, a very small beam of sun light did filter though for about 25 seconds which I was lucky to capture.

I have been on the fence about converting this into more of a panorama by cropping the bottom to about where the trail begins... Let me know what you think about it...

Very nice, Vibhav -- great colors in this image. I don't think your cropping will work -- it will leave the trees at the lower left of the frame just kind of there (popping into the frame).

Vibhav, I've been to this very same site a couple years ago. We shot this scene at morning and evening light. This is one of my favorite sites.

I don't think we're in Kansas anymore.

Nice!
