For what it is worth, I did the Mt. Rushmore to Yellowstone to Grand Teton roadtrip a couple of years ago in the summer. It is a lot more driving than you realize looking at it on the map. If I had to do it over again, I would do Rushmore and the Black Hills as one trip and Yellowstone and Tetons as one trip.

FWIW, I completely agree with everyone's assessment of Yellowstone in the summer and Yosemite in May. I have done both that way and those are optimum for visitation and photography - though it would be hard to find a bad time for photography in either place.

Also, don't underestimate the crowd factor in Yosemite in the Summer months...the Valley especially. It can be brutal.

Enjoy your trips.

this is not the cheapest place but its very nice and great location, north of Jackson Hole maybe 10 - 12 miles, you are just a few 100 yards from the south barn maybe 1/2 mile to the north barn, Schwabacher's Landing and the Ox bow are close by, I have seen bear , buffalo and antelope from the yard and moose up the road aways. they tend to book up early, nice folks too.
