I went to BBSP in August last year (three months after buying my camera). Here are my three best. Let me know what you think.

Its hard to see since they are so small. 1 and 2 are the best of the 3. To me they seem a bit dark, no or very little detail in the dark areas, again so small its hard to tell.
Colors look good as does the focus. On the compositon side I like 1 as it leads your eye into the scene.

I saw in one thread that someone posted "medium" sized photos from flickr, so that's what I did. Of course, it may have to do with the size I uploaded to flickr too. I'll see if I can make them bigger.

Much better, I like the 2nd one out of all three. Just my .02, but a little more detail in the foreground would be nice, but 1 and 2 are good as is.
With my landscapes I use a set of Lee 4X6 Filters. For sunrises/ sunsets after the sun is about to set on the horizon I use a Singh Ray reverse grad, 3 stop, to maintain forground detail.
Also this would be a good canidate for an HDR series also.

Yeah, I was trying to capture the mood of the sunset, but that kind of required everything to be dark. I could try messing around some with the PP. I am fairly new to digital photography, so I don't know much about doing HDR. I understand the concept, but have never tried it. I also don't own any filters, so I might look into getting some. Do you recommend the Lees?

Lee are goodins, but they are a bit pricey, Cokin has a Z series thats the same size as lee and not as expensive.
You did good if thats the mood you were after. Its all a matter of taste. If we all did it the same, that wouldnt be good.
