Mount Chephren magic in Banff National Park - 05-31-2011, 05:23 PM

Critique: CC:

Mt Chephren on the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. You should definitely put it on your photo bucket list. There are direct flights from most major airports to Calgary and then its about a three hour drive west from there.

In Banff National Park you can shoot from dawn to dusk because there are these type of scenes on both sides of the road for 100 plus miles.

As always, C & C are always welcomed and appreciated.

That is precisely what Heaven looks like.
Everyone should go. Plan a month. Plan every month of the year at least once. Be prepared for snow in any month. With luck you will have fresh snow everytime you visit.

I concur. It's a landscape photographer's dream location.

Amazing. I've had this fantasy for a while of quitting my job and spending a few months driving north and hitting all the major national parks between Big Bend and Denali - including the two big ones in Canada. An entire expedition dedicated to camping, solitude, and photography... It may never happen, but I'm still young, and it's fun to dream.

There are more than two in Canada. The Banff-Jasper area alone includes 4 National Parks & several Provincial parks. Don't overlook Provicianl parks.

Would love to go there some day! Some of the colors look odd for some reason. Is this a HDR?

Beautiful image! I'm hoping to drive from Texas to Banff and back over a 2 week period at the end of September - first of October. I'm hoping that'll be a good time of year to visit.
