5 shot HDR with the D700 w/nikon 14-24mm f2.8
Had an awesome sunrise followed by catching a few trout in the surf followed by a hook in the hand and a trip to the ER which I have pictures of too....a perfect treat for my 30th birthday ;)

I really like the colors in this one, good job on the HDR processing.

Several years ago, myself and a couple of buddies were offshore (30+ miles) and one of them had the same happen to him, we ended up using the scaple out of my first aid box on board to cut it out. closed it up with gauze and...yep you guessed it, duct tape to hold it on his hand.

I am not a fan of most HDR's but this I like. The colors appear natural.

How did you get the waves to stay sharp in the HDR?

Thanks Carl. It is still possible to make HDR's look natural. That is always my goal for them. I got a pretty good tutorial from Fred when I first started shooting them and just went from there. I use Photomatix and usually get my best results with 5 photos 1 stop apart. The new photomatix has a tool to fix ghosting issues and thats what I used on this one. Its as simple as selecting the ghosted area and contrl clicking it to deghost it. Photomatix does the rest. HDR is an excellent tool for creating dramatic photos when used correctly
