I figure I'd show you at least one piece of work of what I like to do.

Still trying to get the hang of some of my work, it was only after I shot did I realize my ISO was waaay too high, but I still like the shot.

Soon as I find my way back there, I'm going to try a slightly different angle to get rid of that pole!

Looks promising, but you might try doing it as an HDR.

I like it except for the pole. Street lights and power poles are the bane of existence! Hate hate hate them!

Well, I drove by, and it turns out the pole is right on the property leading to that building, so there is no way to get around it. :(

Now to take a peek at some of the shots I took in Seabrook and Kemah tonight.

Milby St Shops. Some neat stuff in there on occasion, if you're into trains.

Actually, that was one of the reasons I stopped. I have a dear friend that is into trains and, aside from being a really cool shot, I figure he would appreciate the shot more.

Now, if there was only a way to get onto the englewood yards and into the tower for some time lapse. <sigh>

If you're brave, you can set up on either the Lockwood or Wayside overpasses.

After years of avoiding the wires and the poles, I say, "Leave the wires. Get the poles. They are a part of the landscape. Make them work for you."

It's certainly a lot easier - that's for sure!

Easier? Maybe not. You have to make them work.

True, good point. But, I never get them to work, so they have to be out of the picture. It's like street lights. I can't stand them. Many of my desired targets have been ruined by them - I either resort to taking the light out or forgoing the shot. There is no in-between for me, at least most of the time.

The Clone tool and Content Aware in Photoshop were made for poles, cables, and wires.

I'd have to agree with Venchka, most of the time I try to work with what's around me. Most of the stuff I do is for my personal pleasure and maybe for the sake of history. If I had a client, then I might do things differently.
I retook the pic with HDR.

I think it looks a BIT better.

But I also took a few others tonight.
