Grand Teton and Yellowstone [19 images] - 09-22-2011, 03:48 PM

Critique: NC:

Some of my favorites from the recent trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. It was amazing to see and smell all the boiling pots. Thanks for looking and comments and critiques are always welcome.

Great pics, what process did you use for the panos?

Thanks for the comments.

Austin - I used Bridge/CS5's photomerge for the panos and manually evened out the sky.

Nice shots. I love that place. I was just there in early June and can't wait to get back (follow my pbase link in the sig to see my pictures)

It looks like you had some nice clear and calm weather. The reflection on 2 is perfect and the calm water surface really helps 18.

I liked 11, 12, and 14 best. (Ironic, since on my last trip I did not make it up to Mammoth Hot Springs and two of my favorites are from there).

The only suggestion I have is on 2 and 13....both seem a bit tilted to the right, especially the waterfall.

What is that in #15...were there wildfires there too?

Thanks! You have some great pictures of YS on your site there. It is amazing to see how much snow there was 3 months before I was there.

Yes, the weather was great. Felt so good to get out of the Texas heat during that time. The sky was so clear that it was impossible to get anything type of dramatic lighting

We didn't plan on making it up to Mammot Hot Springs either since we were all the way down in Grant Village. I'm glad that somehow we managed to spent the last day driving the entire loop. Well worth it.

I noticed that after I resized the edits to web size and saved. The bad thing with me is I only save the web version, so I'd had to go back to the raw files to fix things and I couldn't get the same look anymore

I think it was a control burn. Closest I've ever seen a forest fire.

hehe luckily not. I was hoping to see bear(s) but didn't...nothing but bisons :(
