Post em up. I wanna see. I'm fixing to post my dolly video over in the video section. I didn't edit it much. Cropped and smashed thru LRTimelapse and that's about it.

Had a lot of fun shooting with Michael.
And those two dogs made for a challenge, they ran off with our roll of tape once. I think I have a photo of one of the dogs somewhere.
But anyway, here are a couple from the cemetery.

Here's my one decent shot on the old ruins, lit with an iPhone if I remember correctly.
Cranked the contrast up to 11 and it's noisy as heck.

Ooooh I'm diggin those trails. I need to learn how to do that.

That last one looks like an idea that I got from you. Oh... yeah... it was Thanks!

Now that they aren't jacking with me I catch myself laughing about those two dogs. They were a pain and funny all at the same time.

.....

If you have the extended version of PS it's pretty easy. I think there is some free software that does it also.
I bet your 2nd time-lapse you were shooting would stack well for star trails.

I think extended came with Premier Pro.

I'm going to put the unedited version of the 2nd timelapse over in the DSLR video section once I hit send.

Well then, in PS go to file > scripts > statistics. Choose "maximum" as the stack mode and then hunt down your files. I would only grab about 20 at first because it will take a while to crunch on the files.

Michael - in your first image, is that a shooting star streaking from the top of the image through the northern part of the milky way?

Michael and Jake,

Wow. An awesome setting - the building looks like an ancient ruin. Very cool to have the Milky Way as a leading line to the doorway! Love that star trail too!

Michael, If you don't have software that will do it, send me this info:
GPS coordinates of where you were shooting from (or I can just plug in D'Hannis if it's in the database)
Direction you were shooting
Time of the shot

I'll see if the SkyGazer software will ID the streak. If it's not a meteor, it should be in the database. I got the Hubble and the ISS in my night shots at BiBe.

Patti

Sounds easy enough. Hopefully I can try it tonight. I'm headed to Cotulla in a bit.

D'Hannis is west of Hondo on highway 90. Hondo is west of San Antonio on highway 90

My thought is that it was a satellite since it was traversing almost due south to north but it could have been a shooting star

Hey Patty. I don't know the coords but Google Earth has D'Hannis on it. Just look west of San Antonio on highway 90. D'Hannis is about 8 miles west of Hondo. Time was somewhere between 9:30pm and 2:00am on the 23/24th. I'm about to head out the door for Cotulla otherwise I would look at the exif. I'm kind of curious. I think that it was a satellite or some other man made object.

OK, I have the coordinates for D'Hannis and the elevation. I do need a narrower window for the time though and the direction your camera was pointing approx (like NE or whatever). There will be a jillion satellites in that time span. No EXIF in the image posted here, so when you get a chance to take a look, let me know.
