Looks like the skies were not kind to you. I was at the Valley of Fire State ark and had the same issue. You could see potential but that midday light can be rough.

My only suggestion would be timing, but if your trips are like mine it is MUCH easier said than done.

It looks like you cropped to minimize the crappy skies the best you could, but have to agree with Keith here, timing is the biggest issue with these.

I like the first one, but would like to see it a bit closer. The lighthouse is the most striking feature in that place, and I think getting much closer would yield better shots. As it is, there's nothing that really grabs your focus.

The second is pretty but again the angle limits the amount of focus in the image. I'd maybe try shooting it from much lower if possible, to get the tree above the horizon in the background (not sure if that's possible though)

The third, doesn't do much for me. The sky kills the shot, and even then I think getting much closer and focusing on the patterns more, would make for a better shot.
