This tree is the size of a football field!

Oh I love it there! I went to Humboldt twice, and stayed in these cute little cabins in Redcrest (Redcrest Resort).

There's a little store there on the Ave of the Giants that was closed when I was there, and the house next door was for sale too. I dream of buying both and selling groceries to tourists, along with ice, photo supplies, wine, and over priced sandwiches!

Wouldn't that be the life!

It's tough shooting there in the afternoon because of the shade on the ground and bright skies. I found it easier in the AM and on overcast days.
I'm not a fan of the fisheye shot at the Founders tree. I'm glad you did a verticle comp, but the trees look weird bowed, IMO. I think a closer shot of your model would have shown the huge-ness of the tree better.

Now you have an excure to GO BACK and re-shoot LOL

For the amount of tourist that go through there I am really suprised I could not find a store. Your right! It would be like a gold mine!

As for the pictures, I was trying to get a still to represent how tall these trees are. It was a tough one. Video was much better at representing the height. I'll have to go back and try your suggestion. I'll definitely go back. Was amazing!

Thanks Ron! It was really cool. After seeing the Redwoods I'm curious about the Sequoia trees now.

Here's a shot of "my" store in Redcrest. I wonder if it's still on the market....

The redwoods are another place on my bucket list. Nice shots.

Mel, I'll join you in opening that cute little store. :)

Those are great photos Junho. Like the perspective you give on the second one. What lenses did you use for these shots?
