Guadalupe Mountains Fall Foliage - 11-24-2011, 10:09 AM

Critique: NC:

Texas is not known for having spectacular fall foliage, but there are a few exceptions to this. One such exception is Guadalupe National Park. Whenever the weather begins to change and temperatures begin to dip toward freezing, the trees in McKittrick Canyon and Devil’s Hall Canyon put on their fall foliage display.

What a stark contrast to the areas of Texas plagued this year by drought and wildfires.

I was there during the second week of November and I think I hit the absolute peak of color

Very nice colors.
For some reason, perhaps the drought, something seems to have triggered the trees to change more in unison this year. Seems to me more color exists this year than normal, and I seem to be seeing more reds in the leaves than I remember seeing here before. ???

Beautiful! Love the first two, but the entire series is great.

You caught these at a good time. Like the colors the season produces. Good job.
