Oak & fog... B&W - 11-27-2011, 09:58 AM

Critique: NC:

This is an oak tree on the Old Horseshoe Lake trail at Brazos Bend SP. This is one of my favorite areas to shoot in the park when the fog rolls in.

Love it Jim. B&W was the right treatment for this shot.

The B&W processing works very well for this image - nice work, Jim.

Thanks Doug glad you like this one. I wasn't happy with the color version so converted it to B&W just to see how it would look and ended up liking it a lot more.

Thanks Westley! Heck I've been trying to get one I like of this tree for over twenty years and had to convert this one to a B&W before it worked for me...my wife even likes it and has it on her screen at work. This was made back in March 2009.

Terrific shot Jim. The B&W helps to convey a sense of the eerie about it. Expecting a vampire or werewolf to come out of the fog. very well done.

Thanks so much for the comments. I made this with my 105 Micro because I was hunting for flowers and critter's to shoot that morning. I've made some with my 24 before, but like this one over those try's...
