One of my favorites.
Not so much because of it's uniqueness (lots of shots out there of the Subway)....
but because of the hell I had to go through that weekend getting there and getting a good shot.

Flew into Phoenix, drove all night to Zion, waited in line at 4am to get a permit.
Hike 10 miles in the Narrows that day. Got 3 hours of sleep. Then hiked 10 more miles to the Subway and back.
One of the toughest hikes I have ever done. Raced back to Phoenix to make my flight back home.

Blew out both knees. Left knee is finally getting back to normal only now.
This was in September over labor Day weekend.

Thanks Fred, Love your shot as well.

I keep wanting to say those kinds of trips are over...but they are not.
I think a lot of my trips to the desert are done for a while. been there (Utah) 13 times now.

I had a much more relaxing time in Florida.

I was actually shooting my son on a rifle range when I turned around and saw this. Big Bend, handheld HDR. I really need to go back to my original files and re-do this now that I know a little more, but who has the time! I still like it.

This is a rather unorthodox landscape shot but it has grown on me over time. I try to take a photo excursion on January 1st to document the new year. This year I didn't get out until the 2nd.

Zedler mill - 12-15-2011, 08:15 AM

Zedler's mill in Luling. It's not as picturesque without the rusty metal and old wood, but still unusual. Processing was HDR simulation using one Raw image.

Amazing stuff, guys.

I don't get to shoot too many landscapes, especially this year, but here's one I like taken just a few weeks ago while traveling, and edited on the ipad.
