Playing with textures - 12-23-2011, 08:57 PM

Critique: NC:

I saw a few images posted on Facebook the other day and it reminded me that I wanted to play with a few texture files to see what I could create. I took this image a couple of years ago from my trip to Haines, Alaska to photograph Bald Eagles and it was a little interesting, but the light was just OK so it has been sitting on the hard drive. I saw a similarly lit landscape on the web that was made much better with a few texture files. This is what I came up with and I also created another image today using some of the same techniques: Vintage Bald Eagle

Thanks for looking and commenting!

Scott

I love playing with textures! "Old painting" is my favorite photo look.

I like this -- feels like you're out in a blizzard

Thanks for the comments!

It snowed about 4 inches that day and we had a very interesting ride down a hill as well. As we were looking for images a local came by with his snowmobile and shared some peppermint schnaps with us! My friend that was leading the trip was celebrating his 65th birthday - very memorable day.
