Weekend trip to the Hill Country - 04-22-2007, 08:20 PM

Last weekend we went to the Hill Country, spending Saturday at Enchanted Rock SNA, staying overnight in Fredericksburg, and then driving to Inks Lake SP where we camped overnight Sunday. The weather was great (although it got awfully cold overnight Saturday - glad we were in a hotel that night), and the wildflowers were still nice although not being familiar with the area I spent too much time driving around looking for good areas.

Anyways here are some shots, as always comments/critiques/feedback welcome. Click on any image to get the gallery page with EXIF info.

Sunrise, Inks Lake SP

Loyal Valley, Mason County

Pecan Flats Trail, Inks Lake SP

Keyserville Rd

Solitary Tree, Top of Enchanted Rock

Chris, Ken, Bruce, and Debbi - Thanks for the feedback and kind words, I appreciate it.

Harris - thank you. I've also posted a few panos in this thread, and the rest of my wildflowers are here

Thanks again,

I was hoping you'd post some hill shots this year. These are exceptional. I don't know how you get so much range in your shots but wow, it sure works!

Beautiful and nice variety of images. I never made it to the top of enchanted rock even without a camera. Love the angle and depth on bluebonnet road!

Great series, Jeff. I was at Enchanted Rock the next day. Shot the same tree on the summit :-)

They're all great photos, Jeff. I particularly like the composition (and colors!) of the Keyserville Road photo.

Great photos! It is hard to go wrong at Enchanted Rock ... for more information on wildflowers in the Hill Country (or in Texas) check out this book ... I have used it to great success
