This old stone building is the original post office built when German immigrants first began settling the area around Austin and Fayette counties in south central Texas.

Jonathan, I like #1 but really like #2. The detail is wonerful! I’m making plans for some weekday road trip up in that area in the next few weeks. I love it over in that area. Thanks

Those were my sentiments as well, but its the town's property and I was just a visitor ...



The site is in a park in Industry named the Ernst Memorial Park, Schroeder Road, 2 blks W of FM 109.

Here's a great resource for those of you interested in Texas historical sites and structures ... its the Texas Historical Commission Atlas where you can search for historic sites and markers. Its pretty extensive and will help you uncover a lot of stuff off the beaten path.
