Fort Worth Japanese Gardens - 11-05-2008, 09:17 AM

Hi everyone. I have been hanging around here for a bit, but I haven't posted much except for in the DFW locations threads.

I went to the Japanese Gardens hoping to see some fall colors. It was beautiful. Here are a few from this past Sunday...

Lyncca, these are some very nice shots. I agree that the Japanese gardens is a great place to shoot. I was there last week (my photos can be seen here as I process them : http://www.digitalscapephotography.c...se_Garden.html). I plan on going back in a couple of weeks to catch (hopefully) the fall colors in the leaves.

Nice shots :) We have some that are very similar. I love the one you have of the bamboo dripping water. I didn't get back that far when I went this time. I was out that way to go to the zoo, so I only had about an hour 9-10am, so I was mostly just around the main pool.

I was on a bridge, so, I balanced the camera on the bridge (with the strap around my neck!) and put the timer on :)

Were these with the new camera?

I'm partial to #5 here and #5 on your gallery. Did you happen to get one of the entire squirrel?

No, these are with my D70s. I'm still anxiously awaiting the arrival of the D300...

I'm not sure about the squirrel there. I took it last winter when I had only been shooting about a month (had no idea what I was doing!) It is also too warm I think.

I see there website calls a "Pro" anyone being paid for their services. Does a tripod smell of a "pro" or is the hobbyist allowed to take their tripod in without paying their "fee".

If you are a regular visitor, NO tripods are allowed in the Japanese Gardens.
If you pay the $75 fee I don't know the answer.

for the answer I suggest you contact:

Dang....they play hardball out there.

Looks like Dallas is a little more lenient, at least for bridal shots.
